I know it’s been a while since I last posted. I’ve been busy!
It is now the middle of June and the summer event season is already in full swing. I’ve done the New Hampshire Renaissance Faire and a whole slew of events with The Knights Hall. I’ve already survived fighting in full armor in 90 degreed F and above…. twice this year.
Armor Updates
With the invasion of Ukraine and my getting a mild case of COVID in March, I have not been able to get my new helmet made, so I’ll be fighting in the ill fitting armet for light duels and the mismatched houndskull helmet for heavier fighting. The rest of my good armor is mostly dialed in. Here’s a quick list of to-do items to improve my armor:
- Great Bascinet helmet (Ordered from Master Uley, who is out of business temporarily while his country deals with Russian invaders.)
- New Armet and matching gorget (Discussed with Jeff Wasson, but delayed when my visit to him was canceled because I contracted COVID.)
- New Gauntlets (as above)
- New Left Pauldron (as above. The armor I based this set from has a left pauldron matched to the right one ….which it shouldn’t be. This armor should have asymmetrical pauldrons.)
- (Maybe) New Sabatons – I have a pair but they aren’t a great fit to the greaves.
